Akhmat suffered a 0–2 away defeat to Baltika in the 14th round of the Russian Premier League.
Maksim Petrov and Sergey Pryakhin found the net for the host. Akhmat were left down to ten men after striker Georgy Melkadze was shown a red card in the 59th minute.
Stanislav Cherchesov shared his thoughts on the match and answered journalists’ questions at the post-match press conference:
-We were preparing for this kind of match — Baltika always plays aggressively at home. Up to a certain point, we were doing everything right until we conceded a goal from a throw-in that didn’t follow the logic of the game. In the second half, we controlled the ball and wanted to turn the game around, but then conceded another goal and received a red card. After that, it became difficult. I thanked the guys — even playing with ten men, they still tried to fight back. Congratulations to Baltika on the win. The season continues.
