Ferencvaros will face Ujpest FC in a Budapest derby on Sunday, the 24th of April. The match will take place at Groupama Arena stadion in Budapest. Kick-off is at 17.30 CET.

Ujpest FC have been Hungarian champions twenty times, and have won the Magyar Kupa eleven times. The team is currently at position 4 with 39 points after 28 matches, 20 points behind Ferencvaros.

 

This is going to be the 291th match between Ferencvaros and Ujpest FC. Of the previous 290 matches, Ferencvaros won 143, Ujpest won 77 and 70 matches ended in draw.

 

The previous derby with Stanislav Cherchesov as Ferencvaros coach was won 1-0 on January 30. 

 

"Just like in January, the match against Újpest will be very important for us again. We are aware that a full house is expected in the stadium and we expect a great atmosphere! Of course we watched the last matches of Újpest and it looks like the team got stronger. Yet, we are prepared for the match on Sunday", said Cherchesov to the official website of Ferencvaros before the match. 

 

It should also be noted that this is not the first time that Stanislav Cherchesov is crossing paths with Ujpest FC coach and former Rostov defender Miloš Kruščić. They first played against each other on September 21, 2002 when Cherchesov was appearing for Spartak Moscow as the goalkeeper. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. The second time they crossed paths was on July 1, 2007 when Mr. Cherchesov was coaching Spartak Moscow. Spartak won 3-1 that day.
