FC Terek recover from 0-2 to 2-2 draw in away game against CSKA

Russian Premier League Gameweek 27 fixture CSKA Moscow vs FC Terek Grozny ended in a 2-2 draw.

CSKA took the lead through Vagner Love’s goal in the middle of the first half. Seydou Doumbia scored the second goal in the opening minutes of the second half. The Terek squad did not give up and kept performing a fine football which helped to recover. Both scoring opportunities were provided by substitute Zaur Sadayev and goals came from Aleksander Pavlenko and Maurisio.

FC Terek Grozny coach stressed at the press conference that he had asked his squad to keep sticking to their guns in hope for finding and fulfilling a scoring opportunity, reports SE Internet correspondent Artem Agapov from Khimki.

-       I believe there was a certain scenario in this game, said Cherchesov. – We have prepared correctly to the game, both from tactical and staff point of view. The team performed a substantive football. The standard kick we have missed is also a part of football. But that was an annoying goal. I asked the squad to keep performing in the same way because we were supposed to get our opportunities. We have therefore kept the same tactic and did not fall into adventurism. The goal we have missed is indeed a pity. We were throwing in an out near the home side’s corner spot and then a two-cross counter-attack follows and we are two goals behind. But the team was ready to struggle. The squad did its best and the football god repaid us for the hard work we did during the recent championship break.

We will still have to work on certain things. But I hope that we have already hit the bottom and now it is time to start emerging. We have made our first step towards this goal today.
